Another successful year for the Asia Young Designer Awards (AYDA) as they formally announced the winners for AYDA 2021. This year’s theme is “FORWARD: Amplifying Empathy Through Design” and aims to challenge the new breed of architects and interior designers to rise above and grow beyond designing one-dimensional spaces while keeping the demands of consumers in mind, as well as important factors such as sustainability and caring for the environment.

Gold Award – MARAHUYO Design camp by Moira Kayla G. Ramiro of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde
Silver Award – NAMNAMA COMMUNITY HUB by Nuri Hong of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde
Best Green Innovation Award – BALAY SA LUKAY by Kizzie Marie Pacaro of the University of San Carlos
Best Colour Choice Award – ADALLAY PAVILLION by Mary Margareth Calvo of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde
People’s Choice Award – Moira Kayla G. Ramiro of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde
Best Mentor Award – IDr. Candice Arboleda

Best College/University Award – University of Mindanao
Best Supporting College/University Award – Bulacan State University
The BEST MENTOR Award is given to the mentor of the Gold Award winner. He/she will receive a cash prize of P10,00.
The BEST COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY Award is given to the school of the Gold Award winner. They, too, will receive a cash prize of P10,000 PLUS Nippon Paint vouchers
The BEST SUPPORTING COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY Award is given to the school of a finalist who has sent in the most entries in AYDA2021. In addition, they will also receive paint vouchers courtesy of Nippon Paint.
All finalists will receive internship opportunities along with a cash prize of P10,000. However, the Silver Award 🥈 winner will receive P30,000 while the Gold Award 🥇 winner will receive P50,000 cash.
Congratulations also to the first ever AYDA TV Correspondent, Maxine Loyala Naval from PUP.
One of Asia’s leading design competitions, the Asia Young Designer Awards was first launched in 2008 as part of Nippon Paint’s vision to nurture the next generation of design talents. Since then, the award has become a motivational tool for Architectural and Interior Design students to develop their skills and hone their talents, work with and learn from key players in the industry, and meet fellow Architectural and Interior Design students across the region.
