Ayala  Healthcare  Holdings  Inc.  (AC  Health)  has  officially  unveiled  Daniel  O. Mercado Medical Center’s new brand name, Healthway Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center. The unveiling comes  after  the rebranding launches of Healthway QualiMed Hospital Santa Rosa, Healthway QualiMed Hospital  San Jose del Monte, Healthway QualiMed Hospital Iloilo, and Healthway QualiMed Manila. The series  of  signage  unveiling  ceremonies signals the integration of all of AC Health’s hospitals and clinics under the Healthway Medical Network (HMN) brand.

The  rebranding  comes  with  a  promise  to  deliver  “Care  Beyond  Cure”  anchored  on  “Connected  Care Circles,” HMN’s innovative integrated care model within the network.

From L-R: AC Health President and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Paolo Borromeo, Tanauan City Mayor Sonny Perez Collantes, Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) Senior Vice President and AC Health Board Director Ms. Mariana Zobel de Ayala, Ayala Corporation Managing Director and Corporate Resources Group Head Mr. Francisco ‘Paco’ Romero Milán, and Healthway Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center Chief Operating Officer Mr. Edwin Magsino

The “Care Beyond Cure” promise is a pledge of commitment to provide human-centric care, going beyond addressing the patient’s medical wellness, and overall well-being. Meanwhile, the “Connected Care Circles” offers high-quality, coordinated care throughout the patient journey. The integration focuses on healthcare providers  working  together  to  deliver  the  holistic  needs  of  patients,  from  primary,  multi-specialty,  to specialized care. It recognizes the importance of a strong and cohesive network of outpatient clinics and hospitals to respond to the needs of patients across the entire health continuum.

“We aspire to leverage the history and experience of DMMC as we execute on our “Connected Care Circle” program. Through its leadership in the hospital network, we are able to structure our healthcare delivery to respond to the needs of our patients across the entire health continuum in an integrated manner. Through our CCCs, care is coordinated across the entire HMN network by a strong network of doctors, supported by nursing and allied staff with specialized training. Our patients can go to our different clinics and hospitals to get  the  care  they  need,  thanks  to  our  unified  health  information  system,”  said  Jaime  Ysmael,  CEO  of Healthway Medical Network.

Healthway  QualiMed  DMMC  serves  as  the  legacy  hospital  of  the  group with 66 years of service in the communities of Tanauan and nearby cities and municipalities. The hospital was founded by Dr. Daniel O. Mercado  in  1957,  starting  as  a  12-bed  lying  in facility, now it serves more than 120 inpatient beds and continues to expand its range of services and training programs. As part of the Healthway Medical Network, the hospital extends its patient reach nationwide and its rich history and experiences enables a stronger core for integration in HMN.

Patients   will   also   benefit   from   the AC  Health  ecosystem,  which  encompasses  various  healthcare touchpoints  such  as  pharma and digital health, including Generika Drugstore, IE Medica, MedEthix, and KonsultaMD in partnership with Globe’s 917 Ventures.

Paolo  Borromeo,  President  and  CEO  of  AC  Health

“The AC Health network consists of 3 pillars – pharma, digital health, clinics, and hospitals. However, we are not stopping there. Our goal is to expand our services further and touch the lives of 1 in every 5 Filipinos by 2030,”  said  Paolo  Borromeo,  President  and  CEO  of  AC  Health.  “As our ecosystem  expands,  we  will continue  to  harness  the  collective  strength  of  all  our  assets  and  drive  even  more  synergies, offering a differentiated experience for our Healthway doctors, employees, and, most importantly, our patients.”

Healthway Medical Network is AC Health’s primary avenue for delivering outpatient and inpatient healthcare services.

Mariana Zobel de Ayala, Senior Vice President of the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) and Board Director of AC Health

“The Ayala Group believes that reliable, quality healthcare is a fundamental right of all Filipinos, and this core belief drives our continued investment in the space. The pandemic further heightened that importance for us – with AC Health, we hope to further ensure inclusivity in availability of healthcare services across the country,” said Mariana Zobel de Ayala, Senior Vice President of the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) and Board Director of AC Health. “We thank AC Health and Healthway Medical Network for their contributions to making healthcare – as a core, fundamental right – more available to all Filipinos.”

Healthway Medical Network plans to open three more multi-specialty centers in Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, and Davao, expanding the Healthway Medical Network to 15 outpatient centers by the end of 2023.
